Your Deano’s gate arrives fully assembled in a black or grey aluminium frame, with the composite boards already fitted. There is no gate frame to build and no separate gate kit to put together. Once you have checked your opening, the gate simply needs hanging to a suitable wall, existing post, or Dino Decking black aluminium fencing post.

The supplied lock keep/latch is designed to fit into the slot/channel of Dino Decking black aluminium fencing posts, helping the finished gate integrate neatly with the fencing system.
Before you fit
Check Before Installation
Before hanging the gate, check:
- The gate size is suitable for your opening
- The fixing wall, post or structure is solid and secure
- The gate has enough clearance to open and close
- The ground is reasonably level
- The gate can swing in the direction you need
- The lock keep/latch can be positioned correctly
- You have suitable tools and fixings for the surface you are fixing into
Our gate size is 1800mm high and available in widths from 800mm wide to 1200mm wide.
Where the gate can be fitted
Fitting To A Suitable Wall
The gate can be hung from a suitable wall, provided the wall is strong, secure and suitable for gate fixings. Always use fixings appropriate for the wall type.
Fitting To An Existing Post
The gate can also be fitted to a suitable existing post, provided the post is secure, upright and strong enough to support the gate.
Fitting To A Dino Decking Black Aluminium Fencing Post
The gate can be mounted to a Dino Decking black aluminium fencing post. The supplied lock keep/latch is designed to fit into the slot/channel of Dino Decking black aluminium posts, helping the gate line up neatly with the fencing system.

Check the opening
Measure the gate opening and check the size before fitting. Make sure the wall post or structure is suitable and secure.

Position the gate
Place the gate into position and check the height, ground clearance and swing before fitting.

Fit the hinges
Fit the hinges securely to the wall, existing post or stable fixing point. Keep the gate level and supported while positioning.

Hang and adjust the gate
Hang the gate, check the gaps and adjust as needed so the gate opens and closes smoothly.

Fit the lock keep/latch
Align the lock keep / latch and fix it securely. When fitting to a Dino Decking Black Alluvium post, the keep is designed to sit inside the post slot/channel.

Final checks
Open and close the gate several times. Check the hinges, latch, lock and handle all work correctly before use.
Important fitting note
Posts, fencing and installation are not included. The gate must be fitted to a suitable wall, post or structure by a competent person. Many competent DIY customers can hang the gate themselves, or you can ask a handyman, landscaper or fencing installer to fit it for you. If your opening is unusual, damaged, weak, out of level or unsuitable, get advice before fitting.
