A generic gate may look similar to a Deano's Dino Gate in a photograph or on a specification sheet. That apparent similarity can make the products look interchangeable. They are not.
A generic gate is an off the shelf product which is designed and supplied with its own generic black or grey composite infill. The aluminium frame is designed specifically for that composite product. Dino boards do not fit that frame. The generic frame is not viable for Dino boards and cannot be converted into a Deano's gate.
A Deano's Dino Infill gate is individually custom built to order by our own team, using a similar aluminium frame, especially fabricated by us for genuine Dino boards.
We build the aluminium gate to your chosen width. We also adapt the Dino Decking Fencing boards in your selected colour to fit perfectly in your newly constructed frame.
That difference requires specialist aluminium framing knowledge, composite joinery knowledge, skilled fabrication, additional materials, labour, equipment, quality control and warranty responsibility.
Comparing the price of a Generic finished gate with a completed Deano's Dino Gate is not a like for like comparison. They are not the same gate. They are not interchangeable. One can not be converted into the other.

They may look similar in overall appearance but one is a generic off the shelf gate, the other is a custom built gate using genuine Dino materials.
What would it cost to create a Dino infill gate yourself?
A customer trying to recreate a Deano's matching gate would need two separate products. A complete generic composite framed aluminium gate and a separate dino composite panel. The generic gate would then need to be dismantled, its composite infill removed, its aluminium frame redesigned and adjusted to suit Dino boards, the Dino boards also need to be adapted to fit the aluminium frame as neither the aluminium frame or the Dino boards fit together in the generic gate as supplied. You will also require new gate hardware as the supplied generic gates hardware is not compatible with the weight of the gate including the Dino infill.

We fit the Dino infill boards and install the structural centre bar and heavy-duty hardware with millimetre precision.

Why the Dino Material Cost Matters
Dino fence boards are supplied in 1800mm lengths.
For smaller gate widths, it may be possible to produce more than one usable gate cut from each board.
Once the required cut becomes too wide to produce two gate lengths from one board, the material cost increases significantly.
For many larger gates, one customer’s order can consume the usable boards from an entire Dino fence panel.
The remaining pieces cannot automatically be treated as usable stock. Another customer would need to order a compatible smaller gate in exactly the same Dino colour.
That material usage and waste are genuine manufacturing costs.
It is one of the reasons a custom-built Dino-infill gate cannot follow the same pricing structure as an off-the-shelf generic gate using inexpensive stock infill.

The £370 generic-gate price covers an off-the-shelf gate with its original generic infill.

Once the Dino material is included, the raw retail materials alone can already cost approximately the same as a completed Deano’s gate.
The Deano’s price also includes the skilled work required to turn those separate materials into a finished, working and warranted gate.

A generic composite gate can be a good option when matching Dino products is not important.
But it is not a cheaper version of a Deano’s Dino-infill gate.
